I spent the summer working in the political section in the United States Mission to Argentina, located in
the capital city of Buenos Aires. While not the most attractive sight in an otherwise majestic city, the
Embassy plays host to all U.S. government activity in Argentina. The bilateral relationship between the
United States and Argentina is a longstanding example of the U.S.’s broader relationship with South
America. The Political Section sits at the heart of this relationship, playing a key role in diplomatic
functions and advising the U.S. Ambassador to Argentina on key policy and functional issues.
